Honoring Our Founder: Mayra Rodriguez
This campus holds special significance as it is dedicated to Mayra Rodriguez, the founder of Compu-Med Vocational Careers, in recognition of her vision, perseverance, and lifelong dedication to student success.
As a Cuban immigrant who came to the United States seeking opportunity, Mayra Rodriguez built CMVC with a simple but powerful mission: to create pathways for others to achieve a better future through education. Through hard work, determination, and an unwavering commitment to her students, she established a school that has transformed thousands of lives over the last three and a half decades.
For more than 35 years, CMVC has remained focused on putting students first, empowering individuals to pursue rewarding careers, and helping families achieve economic mobility through education.
What began as one woman’s dream has grown into a lasting legacy that continues to expand across multiple communities. Today, CMVC proudly carries forward Mayra’s vision by opening new campuses, creating new opportunities, and continuing to invest in the success of every student who walks through its doors.
The Fort Lauderdale Campus stands as a tribute to her remarkable journey and a reflection of the values that have guided CMVC since its founding: opportunity, perseverance, service, and student success.
